Energy efficiency has become an integral component of WWF’s efforts in ensuring the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. With a goal of decreasing energy consumption by at least 10% within the public and private sectors, the programme aims to encourage energy management at the demand-side through a more conscientious and informed use of power. Through the simplest of tasks such as converting to CFLs (compact fluorescent lights) or LEDs (light emitting diodes) to going through energy audits, WWF encourages partners to pursue the efficiency path through small yet cumulative and substantial steps.
