External: HNWIs and their trusts and foundations, BOT/NAC members, WWF Network – mainly philanthropy/development counterparts
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Communications Officer is responsible for providing communications support and stewardship/admin support for WWF Philippines' various engagements with philanthropists.
- Identification and qualification: Conduct prospective donor research and preparation of documents including bios and profiles of HNWIs/impact partners
- Cultivation and engagement: Write, design, adapt/repackage and identify various communication and news materials and provide coordination support for donor events/meetings/trips; keep track of points of contact
- Proposals: Working with the conservation and project development teams, write project proposals (i.e., cases for support, conservation project concepts, pitch presentations for major donors/partners)
- Populate/manage major donor database/CRM and generate reports for management use
- Input into wider organizational comms plan to ensure relevance to philanthropy audience
- Prepare gifting requirements (included in stewardship), billing statements, donation certificates and requests for payment and other related administrative tasks
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Executive Director to effectively implement fundraising strategies
- Ensure compliance with WWF-established policies and procedures
- Coordinate with WWF Network counterparts to ensure coherence of approach/maximize opportunities
- Perform other relevant and related tasks not specifically mentioned in the foregoing
- Graduate preferably with a degree in Communication Arts, Advertising, Journalism, Development Communications, Marketing, or a related degree
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in philanthropy or environmental communications, fundraising, high-level sales/relationship management, with proven success
- Appreciation for/understanding of current environmental and conservation issues
- Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and experience in preparing material for/corresponding with major donors, HNWIs, and other C-suite level executives
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and self-motivation
- Excellent coordination and work in virtual teams incl. working well with all levels of internal management and staff
- Strong IT and internet research skills, and proficiency with applications such as MS Office, Gmail, and collaborative platforms (Google Drive, Zoom, Workplace); Proficiency in In Design, Photoshop and other visual / design applications.
